Red Bull Wings Cup 2026 — Terms of Participation (South Africa)
Official Terms of Participation for the Red Bull Wings Cup 2026 National Phases in South Africa, covering the Open League, University League, eligibility, rules, and rewards.
By entering and participating in this promotion (the “Promotion”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Participation consisting of: (i) the Details of the Promotion, (ii) the General Terms, and any other applicable policies and terms. For South Africa: Important Notice
As a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, please note the following important clauses: (a) Limitation of Liability — Clauses 3.1, 3.2, 3.11, 5.1, 7, 9.3, 9.5 and 11 limit the Organizer’s obligations and liabilities. (b) Assumption of Risk — The same clauses contain assumptions of risk by you that may limit your rights. (c) Acknowledgment of Fact — Clauses 3.1, 8.2, 8.3, 9.3, 9.4 and 11 contain acknowledgements of fact you must confirm are true. (d) Indemnity — Clause 11 requires you to indemnify and hold the Organizer harmless against certain claims.
Details of the Promotion
The promotion is titled “Red Bull Wings Cup 2026 — National Phases” and consists of two separate leagues: the Open League and the University League, both played exclusively on PlayStation 5. Finalists from both leagues compete in the same National Final. The National Final winner represents their country at the Red Bull Wings Cup World Final, expected to take place in Miami, United States of America.
Promotion period: 24 September 2026 (07:00 UTC+1) to 26 October 2026 (18:00 UTC+1). This is a game of skill — no element of chance determines reward recipients. More information is available at www.redbull.com/za-en.
The Organizer
Red Bull South Africa (South Wing, Granger Bay Court, Beach Road, V&A Waterfront, Cape Town) with remote support from Red Bull GmbH (Austria). The Promotion is run in cooperation with Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC and FACE IT Limited, which operate the gaming platforms for the online phases. The Organizer is not responsible for platform availability, technical faults, or account suspensions due to Gaming Partners' terms.
Eligibility
To enter this Promotion and be eligible to receive a reward, you must meet the following criteria: You must be a natural person of 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. If you are 18 or older but under the age of majority in your country, you may only participate under the active supervision of a parent or legal guardian who has agreed to these Terms on your behalf. The Promotion is open only to residents of South Africa. University League participants must be enrolled as a student at a university for the entire duration of the Promotion. Open League participants (unless registering via a Wildcard Event) must have access to a PlayStation 5 console, the EA Sports FC 27 game, an EA account, a PlayStation Network account (including PlayStation Plus where required), and a FACE IT account. All participants must hold a valid passport with at least 6 months' validity at the time of registration (considering the World Final is expected in January 2027), and must be able to obtain any visas or permits required for travel to the United States of America. Directors, officers, employees and immediate family members of Red Bull South Africa and its affiliates, as well as persons who have received a reward from any Red Bull promotional competition within the preceding 36 months, are not eligible to enter.
Registration
Open League: To enter, access PlayStation Tournaments on your PlayStation 5 and navigate to the list of available tournaments. Select "Red Bull Wings Cup – Open League" and register for a tournament bracket. The closing date for online registration is 09 October 2026 at 12:00 UTC+1. Alternatively, you may register for an on-site Open League Wildcard Event (closing date: 23 September 2026 at 12:00 UTC+1), where on-site registration on the day is also permitted subject to capacity. Note: if you qualify for the National Final through both the regular route and a Wildcard Event, only your Wildcard participation will be counted. University League: Visit www.redbull.com/za-en and follow the step-by-step instructions to register, creating a Red Bull account for administration purposes (which you may delete after the Promotion). You may also register in person at an on-site University League event with the assistance of Organizer personnel. The closing date for University League registration is 26 October 2026 at 12:00 UTC+1.
National Qualifiers
Open League: The National Qualifiers consist of two stages — the Open Qualifiers and the Closed Qualifiers. All matches are played in EA Sports FC 27 Ultimate Team 11v11, with ties resolved by extra time and then a penalty shootout. After registering, you will compete in assigned brackets. Win your bracket to advance to the Closed Qualifiers (the top 8 players who earn bracket wins will access the Closed Qualifiers via an on-console QR code notification to register on FACE IT). Registration for Closed Qualifiers closes on 16 October 2026 at 15:00 UTC+1. In-game rewards are also granted for bracket performance (1,050 FC Points to bracket winners, 500 FC Points for second place, 100 FC Points for third and fourth, and a one-time 100 FC Points credit for winning your first match). University League: After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with your match details and an in-game welcome gift code. Attend your assigned on-site event location, find your scheduled match on the screens, and compete in EA SPORTS FC 27 Rush Mode 5v5. Ties are resolved by a 2-minute 20-second golden goal period, then a penalty shootout if still level. All results are recorded on the UL Leaderboard (only players with at least two matches played will appear). You may play additional matches at the Organizer's discretion. The closing date for University League participation is 26 October 2026 at 15:00 UTC+1. Common: University students who qualify for both leagues must choose one to compete in at the National Final. The Top 8 from the Open League and the top 8 on the UL Leaderboard advance as National Finalists, announced on 27 October 2026.
National Final
The National Final will take place on 01 November 2026 at a location communicated to all National Finalists after their selection. All 16 National Finalists (Top 8 from each league) must attend in person — any finalist not physically present will be disqualified. Registration for the National Final closes on 28 October 2026 at 15:00 UTC+1. Finalists will compete in a single-elimination knockout format. Each matchup is decided by a single game played in Kick-off 95 mode, with ties resolved by extra time (no golden goal) and then a penalty shootout if necessary. The winner of the knockout phase becomes the national champion. The reward for the winner is qualification to the Red Bull Wings Cup World Final, including return flights from their place of residence to the World Final location, accommodation for the duration of the event, and transportation between the airport, accommodation and venue. The total value of each reward will not exceed R70,000 per person. Acceptance of new Terms of Participation is required for the World Final. Winners are solely responsible for compliance with immigration and entry requirements for the host country. Reward recipients will be announced at the event on 01 November 2026 and must claim their reward within the period specified, or the Organizer may offer the reward to the next eligible participant within 15 days.
General Terms
1. Contact Details and Entry: Your contact details will be used to correspond with you and notify you of any rewards. Ensure your information is accurate and notify the Organizer of any changes. The Organizer may verify your identity, age, and eligibility at any time, including requesting proof of university enrollment or parental consent where required. All entries must be received before the stated deadlines. The Organizer will disqualify entries that are automatically generated, completed by third parties, incomplete, fraudulent, created using multiple accounts, or submitted from excluded countries. No responsibility is accepted for lost entries.
2. Free Method of Entry: Where a purchase is required to enter, the Organizer will offer an alternative free method of entry if required by law. A purchase will not improve your chances of winning.
3. Notification and Rewards: Reward recipients will be notified by email and/or telephone, and an announcement may be made on the Website or a third-party platform. You agree that your first name, last name, nickname, picture, and reward receipt may be disclosed. Rewards must be claimed within the specified period. Rewards are personal, non-transferable, and awarded "as is" without warranty. The Organizer expects to deliver rewards within 60 days of a valid claim. Travel rewards require valid travel documents, visas, and compliance with applicable travel requirements — travel insurance and spending money are the recipient's own responsibility. The Organizer will determine airline, airports, flight itinerary, and accommodation in its sole discretion. Recipients are liable for any applicable taxes on rewards.
4. Organizer's Right to Change the Terms: Subject to applicable law, the Organizer reserves the right to change dates, locations, formats, and other details of the Promotion at any time. Changes will be posted on the Website and take effect immediately.
5. Force Majeure: If the Promotion is compromised by any event beyond the Organizer's control (including war, strike, epidemic, pandemic, extreme weather, government orders, or technical failures), the Organizer may modify, suspend, postpone, cancel, or extend the Promotion without liability. The Organizer will make reasonable efforts to inform you of any changes on the Website.
6. Disqualification: The Organizer may disqualify any participant at any time for failing to adhere to these Terms, engaging in cheating, using bots, altering game software, gaining unintended advantages, or using offensive language. Where voting is used as a selection process, participants who solicit votes through payment, incentives, or vote-exchange platforms may also be disqualified. The Organizer's decision is final.
7. Third-Party Platforms: This Promotion is not linked to, organized, or endorsed by any third-party platform unless otherwise specified. Where entry via a third-party platform is required, you must have access to the internet and an active account on that platform. Your use of third-party platforms is subject to their own terms and conditions.
8. Entry Materials: You may submit materials in connection with the Promotion ("Entry Materials"). The Organizer and Red Bull may also film and photograph you before and during the Promotion ("Additional Materials"). Entry Materials must be your own original work and must not be copied, contain third-party content without permission, be offensive, defamatory, or dangerous, violate third-party rights, reflect a political statement, or breach applicable laws. You warrant that your Entry Materials comply with all platform terms where applicable.
9. Grant of Rights: By participating, you assign to Red Bull all rights in your Entry Materials and Additional Materials in any and all media in perpetuity. To the extent rights are not assignable, you grant Red Bull a worldwide, unlimited, irrevocable, exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, and sub-licensable license to use the Materials for any purpose, including broadcasting, adaptation, advertising, merchandising, and print publication. Red Bull may edit or alter the Materials at its sole discretion. Reward recipients may be requested to participate in promotional activity.
10. Data Privacy: For information on how the Organizer collects, processes, and stores your personal data, please refer to the Privacy Policy provided on the registration page or form and in your confirmation email.
11. Liability: Participate with caution and common sense, ensuring the safety of yourself and others. The Red Bull Group, the Organizer, its affiliates, employees, agents, and distributors accept no liability for indirect or consequential losses, loss of income, loss of profits, or loss of data arising from the Promotion, to the extent permitted by law. No liability is accepted for third-party platform failures, force majeure events, late or lost entries, or technical malfunctions. Nothing herein limits liability for death or personal injury caused by the Organizer's negligence or willful misconduct.
