Formation
The "4-2-2-2" is the perfect formation for RB Leipzig in FC 24. This allows you to utilise all of the top players in coach Marco Rose's team in the best possible way while keeping a compact position. You'll be spoilt for choice in some positions with the strong squad - but more on that in a moment.

Defence

Peter Gulácsi is in goal. Despite his lengthy injury and strong performances from stand-in keeper Janis Blaswich, this will not change in FC 24. His card is still very strong and significantly better than Blaswich's (overall rating 77). Lukas Klostermann and Mohamed Simakan form the central defence in front of Gulácsi. Why are we not fielding Willi Orban? It's simple: the captain is significantly slower (58 pace) - too little to keep up with the fast opposing strikers in FC 24.

Benjamin Henrichs plays on the right of the back four. The German international has solid stats across the board, but at 74 pace he's not the fastest for a full-back. If he is too slow for you, you can also play Lukas Klostermann (81 pace) on the right and deploy new signing Castello Lukeba (78 pace) in central defence. At left-back, on the other hand, there is no way around David Raum. The German international impresses with strong stats - including 88 pace and 78 physicality.

Midfield

The midfield is led by Xaver Schlager. The Austrian has his strengths in physicality (80) and dribbling (78) and is a rock-solid "six-man". You can play Amadou Haidara alongside him in defensive midfield, for example. But Kevin Kampl with similar stats is also an option.
In attacking midfield, Dani Olmo stands out in particular. The Spanish international is a dribbling king (86) and has another strength in passing (82). But new signing Xavi Simons also has a lot to offer. His pace (87) and dribbling (83) are particularly good. Olmo and Simons can both play to their strengths in this position, and can also get down the wings and overrun opposing defences.

Attack
In the attack, you have two fast players in Lois Openda and Timo Werner. In a direct comparison, both attackers are characterised by similar attributes: Pace (93/92), shooting (79/80) and dribbling (80/82). Accordingly, it would be difficult to make a decision against Openda or Werner in a formation with only one striker. In the 4-2-2-2, this decision is not necessary and you can use both players to make the opponent's goal net wriggle.
