Red Bull Genova Cerro Abajo

Genova, Italy

Genova

Italia

Wedged between the Apennine hills and the Ligurian Sea in north-west Italy, there's a reason why Genova was selected as the first ever European location for Red Bull Cerro Abajo. Refined but rugged at heart, the elegant, old city is dense and unapologetically steep. Its old town is a labyrinth of caruggi, the narrow stone lanes that have cut through this city for centuries, and creuze, the ancient sloped paths that once connected hilltop communities to the port below.

Weaving through Genova, you'll encounter uneven paving, blind corners, sudden drops and walls closing in from both sides, leaving riders with no margin for error. The city was never built for raw speed, which is exactly what makes it such a brutal test.
