What is Red Bull Sessions?

Red Bull Sessions is a series of community-focused action sports events across the UK. Designed to support and engage the local scenes of:
  • Surf
  • Skate
  • BMX
  • Snow sports
Each Red Bull Sessions event activates at a local hotspot, bringing athletes, coaches and communities together through progression-based sessions, workshops and hangouts.

What is the Red Bull Sessions Cold Water Surf event in Newquay?

The Red Bull Sessions: Cold Water Surf – Newquay event is a community surf session hosted on Fistral Beach in partnership with:
  • Lukas Skinner (surfer)
  • Andrew Cotton (big wave surfer)
The event includes:
  1. Breathwork & Mindfulness Workshop: Led by a world-class performance coach, focus on calmness in cold water, breathing techniques and mental resilience.
  2. Cold-Water Paddle Out & Expression Session: Guided surf session in cold water conditions, expression session format with spot prizes available.
  3. Recovery Zone: Saunas, hot tubs, warm drinks, all provided by Red Bull to support post-surf recovery.
  4. After Party: Hosted at Fistral Boardmasters Bar this is an opportunity to connect with other surfers and the local community. Food and drink will be available.

Where and when is the Red Bull Sessions Cold Water Surf event?

  • Date: Saturday 14 March 2026
  • Location: Fistral Beach, Newquay, UK
  • Meeting point: In front of Fistral Boardmasters Bar
  • Time: Afternoon (exact schedule and group start times will be emailed to confirmed participants)
All registered participants will receive:
  • Their allocated time slot
  • Full event schedule (Please make sure you attend at your dedicated time.)

Do I need to register to take part?

Yes. Registration is mandatory.
  • You must sign up via the official online registration form.
  • Spaces are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Once spaces are full, no further registrations can be accepted.
To participate, you must have a confirmed registration and receive event communication via email.

Can I just show up on the day without registering?

Walk-ins are not guaranteed.
  • All participants must be pre-registered.
  • We can only accept non-registered walk-ins if there are no-shows and free spaces become available on the day.
  • This is at your own risk – you may travel to the event and not secure a place.
For the best chance of taking part, register in advance.

What is the age limit for the event?

  • The event is strictly 16+.
  • You must be 16 years or older on the day of the event to participate.
  • Anyone under the age of 16 cannot take part due to legal and safety reasons.
Additional rules for 16–17 year olds:
  • If you are 16 or 17, you must attend with a parent or legal guardian.
  • Your guardian will be required to sign your participant disclaimer on-site.
  • If you attend without a guardian, you will not be allowed to participate.

Do I need to bring my own surf equipment?

Yes. You are responsible for bringing your own surf kit. Please bring:
  • Surfboard suitable for the conditions
  • Wetsuit appropriate for cold water
  • Any additional personal gear (boots, gloves, hood, towel, changing robe, etc.)
Important:
  • No surf equipment will be provided by Red Bull.
  • There will be no on-site hire operated by Red Bull.
  • If you need to rent equipment, there are independent surf schools and hire shops on Fistral Beach that you can contact directly.

Will there be food and drinks at the event?

Yes. During the event, registered participants will have access to:
  • Water
  • Red Bull
  • Hot drinks
At the after party at Fistral Boardmasters Bar, additional food and drink will be available.

What happens if there is bad weather or unsafe conditions?

Participant safety is the priority.
  • If adverse weather or ocean conditions affect the event, the schedule may be changed, postponed or cancelled.
  • Any updates regarding: time changes, format changes, partial cancellation, full cancellation, will be communicated directly to registered participants.
