Last year, an electrified atmosphere supercharged the Seaport District, as tens of thousands of fans lined Boston Harbor to witness history as Australia’s Rhiannan Iffland and the UK’s Aidan Heslop soared to victory at the landmark 100th Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series event. In 2025, the excitement is set to reach new heights, with the energy of the crowd sure to fuel a fierce battle for the 2025 King Kahekili trophy.
The season finale unfolds against the striking skyline of the Seaport District, where the Institute of Contemporary Art provides a dramatic launchpad for the world’s best divers. The ICA's unique and instantly recognisable cantilever rooftop is a masterpiece in design, and for two days in September will become a focal point of aerial action, where the world's best divers will face an ultimate test of skill and nerve.
The men will perform gravity-defying aerial artistry from the 27m platform, while the women will take flight from 21m, executing breathtakingly complex dives before slicing into the seawater harbour below.
The Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series touches down in Boston as summer on the eastern seaboard comes to a close. With the harbour water temperatures typically around 18°C, the real challenge will likely come from the unpredictable coastal winds. The Venturi effect, created by the city’s architecture, can funnel gusts off the Atlantic, adding an extra layer of difficulty.
Precision, adaptability and pure athleticism will be key as the world’s elite cliff divers compete for glory in the sport’s most intense finale.
