Red Bull Flick, the premier 2v2 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament, came to an electric finish on 21 November, with Team Spirit’s pro duo of ‘somedieyoung’ and ‘magixx’ crowned champions after battling it out against local favourites PardiPoja in a Grand Final.

Held over two days in front of a live audience in Helsinki Messukeskus, the event was also the first CS:GO LAN in Finland to feature a professional roster of this quality, bringing local fans a unique opportunity to see the world’s best players in action.

A raucous atmosphere met the teams as the best amateurs and seasoned pros including G2’s ‘niKo’ and ‘huNter’ and OG’s ‘valde’ & ‘Aleksib’ went head-to-head in Finland’s largest convention centre.

Hosted by seasoned esports host Freya Spiers, with veteran casters Mohan 'launders' Govindasamy, Conner 'Scrawny' Girvan, Anders Blume and Mathieu 'Maniac' Quiquerez, there was no shortage of drama on offer.
By the end of the Saturday, five of the six pro teams had been eliminated from the competition, leaving Team Spirit as the solo pro outfit to make it through to Sunday’s final. Stood in their way were DepressionDuo, doggonogog, PardiPojad, ALPARTAY, GUESS, Garnuchy and swiiiry.
An epic start to the second day of the Invitational saw Finnish amateurs ardiPoja dominate the stage, defeating pro pair Team Spirit and amateur duo swiiiry to bag their spot in the Grand Final. After an impressive finish in the loser’s final against swiiiry, Team Spirit fought back to lock in their spot against PardiPoja in the Grand Final.
Red Bull Flick Invitational saw hometown heroes PardiPoja and Team Spirit wow the fans with a CS:GO masterclass. Keeping the crowd on the edge of their seats, it all came down to the final round, where Team Spirit managed to outclass PardiPoja and secure the victory, and the title of Red Bull Flick champions.
Following the win, Boris 'magixx' Vorobyev from Team Spirit said: “In the lead up, we kept practising and in particular kept practising our head shots – and we did it perfectly. I think you should never let emotions control you, you need to stay focused and calm and everything should all work out."
