My father was doing motorcycle stunt riding and endurance racing ... I started riding motorcycles thanks to this at the age of 5. My first bike was Yamaha PW50. He entered me in motocross races at 9. At 13 years old I took part in a 600cc race. My dad does not race anymore but he gives me opportunities, supports me in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, for me that is the most beautiful thing."
Though there were difficult periods he clearly loved his first year in Rookies Cup. "It was a great start to the year in Austin, Texas, my bike setting was very good, my engine was very slow on the straights though, I finished third in both races, it could have been even better."

"I did have some had bad luck but also good races, apart from Austin there was also Race 1 at the Sachsenring and in the last race in Aragon I went from 10th, so determined to win the race but just got fourth after being passed on the back straight."
For 2014 he will not be stopped. "I aim to finish in the top three then go on to compete in Moto 3 class. New tracks excite me, this year I'll be racing for the first time in Mugello, fast corners, ups and downs, I love them. I also enjoy working with the team to get the best out of the bike, that is so important and it gives me such satisfaction when we get it right."

Toprak already has a lot of racing experience and has ridden a lot of different machines. For the future his aim is clear. "I want to be second Turkish riders who is World Champion and I want to be first successful Turkish rider in Moto GP." Of course he is referring to Red Bull athlete Kenan Sofuo?lu, his hero who is a 3 times World Supersport Champion. At school he enjoys history and sport and he also loves cycling, swimming and motorcycle stunt riding.
