The Snowboarding The Fourth Phase mobile game blends great-looking graphics with intuitive controls and game modes that are fun and easy to jump into – it's the perfect powder of snow sports games.
Carving the mountains is incredibly addictive, but there's also a whole lot more to this game, from the career mode that throws up loads of different options to drones that let you capture incredible photographs of your player on the mountain and super-cool kit that makes you look the part on the piste.
That sounds like a lot to get to grips with, so here's everything you need to know about the ultimate snowboarding game.

Where can I get Snowboarding The Fourth Phase?

You can download Snowboarding The Fourth Phase from the Android Store and from the Apple App Store. It's completely free to download.

What do the different game modes include?

Snowboarding The Fourth Phase is split into three distinct modes: Contest, Career and Arcade.
Contest gives you the opportunity to pit your wits against other players, going head-to-head to see who can pull off the greatest tricks, take the highest score and come out king of the hill.
Career sees your character making a comeback from injury, discovered by legendary snowboarder Travis Rice. You're given the chance to prove your worth, finding your feet, taking part in events and showing the world you genuinely belong within the sport's top ranks.
You'll find missions within each run, such as hitting a specific points target, or jumping particular distances, along with various geotags to hit as you carve the mountain. Meeting and beating these targets will help you to progress through the stages.
Sometimes you want to take things a little less seriously and that's where Arcade mode comes in, letting you take on different missions without having to follow a set path. The challenge could be landing a grab, it could be taking a specific number of geotags, or it could involve particular tricks. Either way, it'll be fun trying something a little different as you carve your way up the leaderboard.

What about snowboarding in different zones?

Snowboarding The Fourth Phase is split into different locations; complete the tasks set for your player, and you’ll progress to the next zone. Each zone, such as Hozameen in British Columbia, offers up different terrain and conditions, even letting you board during stunning sunsets. It means you'll never be left wanting for new routes and you can always go back and shred old favourites whenever you want.

How do I control my character?

Much like snowboarding in real life, mastering the mountains in Snowboarding The Fourth Phase is all about timing. Carving through the snow is simple enough – just swipe right or left onscreen to switch direction – but things get tougher when it comes to carrying out tricks.
Tapping the top of the screen makes your character jump, while a mid-air swipe makes them flip, swiping upwards to roll forwards and downwards to roll backwards. Time it wrong and it's all too easy to land on your head. Swiping to the right or left mid-jump has a similar effect, making your player spin in either direction, but things get particularly tricky if you combine rolls and spins, making it far harder to time the move perfectly.
There are also four buttons on the left of the screen, letting you add further tricks to the mix, such as grabs, giving you a chance of taking maximum points.
Need more tips? Don't worry, there's also a tutorial mode in Snowboarding The Fourth Phase, showing you how to get to grips with every aspect of the game, from controls to navigating the different menus.

Why do I need points?

As always, points mean prizes and in this case you'll be able to spend the rewards you get from your points on cool new gear, whether it's upgrading to the latest outfits or buying new boards. Taking part in competitions will also make a huge difference, giving you the opportunity to win rare and unusual kit. It's definitely worth looking the part, as you'll also be able to record video and take snaps of your player in action. Speaking of which...

What's the drone for?

Start playing Snowboarding The Fourth Phase and at some point you'll spot a drone flying down the mountain after your player. That's actually your drone, and tapping the camera button makes it possible to take photographs and film tricks as you try them out.
Once you've pressed the camera button, the game pauses and you'll be able to spin and frame your photograph perfectly. As with the rest of your kit in Snowboarding The Fourth Phase, it's also possible to upgrade your drone, resulting in better videos and photographs to share with mates.
