Red Bull Tahadi Al Jazzera
Red Bull Tahadi Al Jazeera is a Motocross & Adventure bikes race, organized by KUWAIT INTERNATIONAL MOTORSPORT CLUB (KIMC) having its registered office in Block 3C, Street No. 31, Building No. 228, Shuwaikh Industrial Area 3, Kuwait.
CHAPTER I - GENERAL CONDITIONS
Art.1 - DEFINITION & REGULATIONS
KUWAIT INTERNATIONAL MOTORSPORT CLUB (KIMC) organizes the 2022 RED BULL TAHADI AL JAZEERA CROSS RACE. This event will be comprised of two classes and two categories.
The event will take place in accordance with the KIMC Rules and Regulations and for any cases not covered by the regulation, a decision will be made by the Jury of the event based on the National Sporting Code.
Race will be held at Failaka Island on a 20 km track.
1.1 Regulations
The English version will be used should any dispute arise as to their interpretation.
1.2 General undertaking
All riders/ competitors participating in the 2022 Red Bull Tahadi Al Jazeera Cross-Race undertake, on behalf of themselves, their employees, agents, and team members to observe all the provisions, as supplemented or amended, of the regulations stated article 1 above.
1.3 Modification to the regulation; Appendices
The organizer with the approval of the jury reserve the right to modify the provisions that are contained in these regulations depending on circumstances and any cases that might arise. The participants will be informed as soon as possible.
Information about any modification that might be made or supplementary provisions that might be added will be given by bulletin. These will be written on yellow paper of dated and numbered appendices and will form an essential part of these Regulations. These appendices will be put in the notice board that is located on the entry of the race control
1.4 Application and interpretation of the regulations
In compliance with the above mentioned FIM regulations, the Clerk of the Course is the person who is responsible for applying these regulations and their provisions throughout the course of the event. However, the Jury must be informed about any major decision that is taken when applying the general or specific event regulations.
Any disloyal, incorrect, or fraudulent acts committed by the participants, or their team members will be judged by the Jury, who will apply the FIM Disciplinary and Arbitration Code.
If, in the opinion of the KIMC, a competitor fails to operate his team in a manner compatible with the standards of the 2022 Red Bull Tahadi Al Jazeera or in any way brings the race into disrupt, KIMC may exclude such competitor from the race.

Art.3 - INSURANCE
The event is covered by a third-party liability insurance.
All competitors, their personnel, guests, etc. must be covered by third party insurance.
The third-party insurance arranged by Red Bull GmbH shall be in addition and without prejudice to any personal insurance policy held by a competitor or any other participant in the event.
Riders taking part in the 2022 Red Bull Tahadi Al Jazeera are not third parties with respect to one another.
Children under the age of 16 are strictly forbidden from fueling area and working area.

The duties of the officials will be complying with the descriptions laid down in the above mentioned.
CHAPTER II - SPORTING REGULATIONS
Art.5 – LICENSES
5.1 All riders participating in the 2022 RED BULL TAHADI AL JAZEERA CROSS-RACE must be a holder of 2022 competitor license to enter the event (issued by KIAC) or 2022 valid regional license (issued by a FIM Regional Federation)
The riders must also be in possession of a current medical certificate of aptitude for competition to obtain his license.
Art.6 - EVENT
6.1 A maximum of 60 motorcycles will be admitted to the 2022 Red Bull Tahadi Al Jazeera Cross-Race.
6.2 Only motorcycles defined as MX2, Open classes also adventure bikes may participate.
6.3 MX2 and Open class will be merged in one race.
6.4 The event will be made of testing, qualification & one race. The race will be two loops - Estimated finish time is 35 minutes. The leader will be shown the checkered flag when the finish line is crossed at the end of the two laps.

Art.8 - COMPETITOR’S APPLICATIONS AND CONDITIONS FOR ENTRY
8.1 Registration
The individual application form to enter the 2022 Red Bull Tahadi Al Jazeera must be submitted to the KIMC before the deadline of Saturday November 5, accompanied by the entry form (Competitor License and ID card)
The application will not be accepted if the form is not fully competed and accompanied by the requested documents.
8.2 KIMC reserves the right to reject the registration of any participant without specifying the reason.
8.3 The minimum age for participants is 16 years old from Date of Birth
8.4 Participants under the age of 18 need to have the parent or guardian approval on the entry form
Art.9 - DOCUMENTATION AND SCRUTINEERING
9.1 Documentation
Documentation & scrutineering will take place at Kuwait Motor Town (KMT).
The opening hour will be specified on the timetable and must be respected.
9.2 Transponders/ Trackers
One personal identified transponder / tracker will be given out at documentation. It is imperative that it is returned to the officials at the end of the event.
9.3 Bracelets
Bracelets given at documentation must be worn for the duration of the event. This must be shown to the officials in the paddock, working area, entering the track.
9.4 Scrutineering
Only one motorcycle per entrant may be presented for scrutineering.
Competitors must ensure that their motorcycles comply with the conditions of eligibility and safety throughout practice and the race in accordance with the technical regulations.
Scrutineering has the right to:
a) Check the eligibility of a motorcycle or of a competitor at any time during the event.
b) Require a competitor to supply them with such parts or samples as they may deem necessary.
No motorcycle may take part in the event until it has been passed by the scrutineers.
Art.10 - COMPULSORY IDENTIFICATION & ADVERTISING
10.1 Race Numbers
For competitors the number will be assigned sequentially.
Each motorcycle must carry the race number allocated by the organizer. The organizer will supply 3 adhesive plates with the numbers and compulsory advertising. They must be applied at the locations specified by the organizers.
10.2 Any competitor who fails to comply with this above article may not be authorized to take part in the practice session and/or the race. The removal of any advertising material that is handed over by the organization could lead to exclusion from the ranking, at the Jury’s discretion.
Art.11 - GENERAL SAFETY
11.1 Flags
It is strictly forbidden for competitors to use flags similar in any way whatsoever to those below.
Green Flag - This flag must be shown to indicate course is clear for start of the race.
Yellow Flag motionless - This flag indicates that there is a danger ahead.
Yellow Flag waved - This flag indicates that there is an immediate danger ahead. Riders must slow down and prepare to stop. Over taking is forbidden.
Red Flag - Stopping of a race for any emergency. Return cautiously to the starting area and wait for officials’ instructions.
Black & White Checkered Flag - Race or practice session is finished.
11.2 Riders taking part in practice and the race must always wear the following:
Helmet with FIM approved standard, eye protection, suitable jersey and pants, gloves, boots, and chest protection.
11.3 Motorcycles must comply with all safety requirements as laid down in the technical regulation at all time.
11.4 Riders are strictly forbidden to ride their motorcycle in the opposite direction to the race unless this is absolutely necessary in order to move the motorcycle from a dangerous position. A motorcycle may only be pushed to remove it from a dangerous position as directed by the marshal.
11.5 During practice and the race, riders may only use the track and must, always, observe the provisions of the FIM regulation relating to behavior on tracks.
- Way points (reference points) will be set across the track for competitors to follow, they will be marked with mega flag for ease of visibility
- Flag Marshals posted across the track to confirm competitors passing (way points) as well for direction.
- There will be no road book.
11.6 Repairs to a motorcycle may be carried out on the track only by the rider using his own tools. Marshals may assist by holding the motorcycle only.
11.7 Riders with serious mechanical difficulties during practice or the race must immediately leave the track and/or return to the paddock adhering to the instruction of the marshals or Clerk of the Course.
11.8 The Clerk of the course or Chief Medical Officer can require a rider to undergo a medical
examination at any time during the event.
Art.12 - COMPULSORY BRIEFING
12.1 A compulsory briefing by the Clerk of the Course will take place before the free practice. All
riders entered in the 2022 Red Bull Tahadi Al Jazeera must be present throughout the briefing. Any absence must be explained through a letter addressed to the organizer.
12.2 If the Clerk of the Course considers that another briefing is necessary, this will be given at a time and place agreed by the members of the Jury. The riders will be informed accordingly.
Art.13 - INSTRUCTIONS AND COMMUNICATION TO COMPETITORS
13.1 In exceptional circumstances, the Jury or Clerk of the Course may give instructions by mean of special circulars. These circulars will be distributed to all the competitors, who must acknowledge receipt.
13.2 All classifications and results of practice and the race, as well as all decisions is used by the officials, will be signed, and posted on the official notice board.
Art.14 - DISCIPLINE AND ARBITRATION
14.1 The Jury has the right to penalize all persons involved in any capacity in an event for:
- Infringements of the regulations.
- Any voluntary or involuntary action/s accomplished by a person or persons during a meeting, contrary to current regulations or instructions given by an official.
- Any corrupt or fraudulent act or any action prejudicial to the interests of the meeting or the sport occurring during an event.
14.2
a) It shall be at the discretion of the Jury to decide, upon a report or a request by the Clerk of the Course, if a rider or riders involved in any accident shall be penalized.
b) If an incident is under investigation by the Jury, a message will be sent to the team from which rider or riders are involved.
14.3 The Jury may impose any one of the following penalties (in substitution or in addition to other available penalties):
- Warnings
- Fines
- Change of position
- Time penalties
- Disqualification
14.4 The Jury shall give written notification of the penalty which has been imposed to an official of the team/rider concerned and shall make sure that his information is countersigned, with a note of the time.
14.5 Riders with the below penalties shall be sanctioned by the Jury:
- Receiving outside assistance, except where indicated: disqualification
- Cutting the course: from 10 seconds time penalty to disqualification
Art.15 - FREE PRACTICE
15.1 MX2 & Open class & Adventure bikes will be merged for the practice session.
15.2 There will be one free practice session on Friday November 11th starting from 14:00 till 17:00.
15.3 The maximum number of motorcycles permitted to start the final race is set at 30.
15.4 No rider may start the race without taking part at the free practice, exception to be approved by the race director.
15.5 Except in a case of “force Majeure” 5 minutes before the start of the practice GREEN flag will be displayed.
15.6 If a motorcycle stops during practice it must be removed from the track as quickly as possible so that its presence does not constitute a danger or hinder other competitors.
15.7 All motorcycles abandoned on the track during any session will be brought back to the paddock.
Art.16 - STOPPING THE PRACTICE
Should it be necessary to stop the practice because the track is blocked by an accident or because weather or other condition make it dangerous to continue, the red flags will be shown at all the flag marshals’ points.
When the signal is given to stop, all motorcycles shall immediately reduce speed and proceed slowly back to the paddock.
All motorcycles abandoned on the track will be removed to a safe place. At the end of the practice session, all riders may only cross the line once.
Art.17 - WARM UP – OFFICIAL
17.1 Adventure Bikes Warm up will take place on Saturday November 12 from 8:15 to 8:45 am
17.2 MX2 warm up will take place on Saturday November 12 from 8:45 to 9:15 am
17.3 OPEN Class warm up will take place on Saturday November 12 From 9:15 to 9:45 am
Art.18 - QUALIFYING RACES
18.1 MX2 qualification race will take place on Saturday November 12 at 10:00 am (2 Loops)
18.2 Open Class qualification will take place on Saturday November 12 at 11:00 am (2 Loops)
18.3 Adventure bikes race will take place on Saturday November 12 at 12:00 am (2 Loops)
18.4 For the qualifying & Adventure Bikes races, the start signal will be given at the beach
18.5 The top 15 finishers from MX2 & Open Class “qualifying race” will take part at the Red Bull Tahadi Al Jazeera main race.
Art.19 - START PROCEDURE & RACE
19.1 20 minutes before the start: all motorcycles must proceed to the start area.
10 minutes before the start: all riders and their motorcycles must be in the starting formation.
19.2 The mass start with all classes combined , will take place from the Ferry Boat with engines running.
19.3 The riders select their starting position based on the results of their qualifying race finish timing all classes combined.
19.4 Once rider has taken position at the starting lane, he cannot change it, return to the waiting zone or receive assistance prior to the start.
19.5 When all riders are on the lane a green flag will be displayed.
19.6 A “15 seconds” sign will be displayed from which moment the riders are under start order.
19.7 At the end of 15 seconds, the Race Director moves to the side of the track holding up the green flag. He then lowers the green flag upon which the race starts.
19.8 The race start will take place from the ferry boat (Mass Start) at 14:30 pm
19.9 The official timing starts once the bikes cross the timing loop.
19.10 If a motorcycle stops during the race, it must be removed from the track as quickly as possible so that its presence does not constitute a danger or hinder other competitors.
Art.20 - FALSE START
20.1 In case of a false start there will be a re-start. A red flag will be displayed to the riders.
All riders must return to their starting positions and the re-start will take place as soon as possible.
20.2 The Jury may exclude the rider(s) deemed being at fault for the false start from taking part of the re-start.
Art.21 - STOPPING OF A RACE
21.1 The Jury is authorized prematurely stop any part of the event for urgent and/or safety reason for other cases of “force majeure”. In that case, a red flag will be displayed.
21.2 Before all the riders have completed half of the race time (1 Loop) a restart will be given.
21.3 After all the riders have completed half of the race time (1 Loop) the classification of the lap preceding the interruption will be valid.
Art.22 – RESULTS
22.1 The Winner of Red Bull Tahadi Al Jazeera race is the rider who crosses the finish line First overall.
22.2 The Second of Red Bull Tahadi Al Jazeera race is the rider who crosses the finish line Second overall.
22.3 The Third of Red Bull Tahadi Al Jazeera race is the rider who crosses the finish line Third overall
22.4 The MX2 Class winner of Red Bull Tahadi Al Jazeera race is the rider who crosses the finish line first in MX2 class.
22.5 The OPEN Class winner of Red Bull Tahadi Al Jazeera race is the rider who crosses the finish line first in OPEN class.
22.6 The Adventure bikes race winners classified as follows
1. First of the adventure race is the rider who crosses the finish line First
2. Second of the adventure race is the rider who crosses the finish line Second
3. Third of the adventure race is the rider who crosses the finish line Third
22.7 Races are officially ended at the completion of the lap at which checkered flag is displayed to the winner.
22.8 The riders who follow the winner will then be stopped when crossing the finishing line.
22.9 When crossing control line the rider must be in contact with his motorcycle.
22.10 The results will not be official until the time limits for protests have elapsed.
22.11 If a protest is lodged the results will not become officials until a decision is taken by the competent body.
CHAPTER III - TECHNICAL REGULATIONS
Art.23 - ALL MOTORCYCLES IN 2022 RED BULL TAHADI AL JAZEERA MUST CONFORM TO FIM HOMOLOGATION DOCUMENTS
23.1 Amendments to the technical regulations may be made at any time to ensure fair competition.
23.2 If a motorcycle is found not to be in conformity with the technical regulations during or after practices, the rider may be penalized.
23.3 The Adventure bikes would require modification safety set up to ensure stand support is not initiated during the race
Art.24 - CLASSES & CATEGORIES
- MX2: From 100cc to 125 cc 2-Strock; From 175cc to 250cc 4-Strock
- OPEN: From 175cc to 500cc 2-Strock; From 290cc to 650cc 4-Strock
- Adventure Bikes: Open
24.1 Identification stickers will be issued for :
- Helmets meeting specifications.
- Motorcycles meeting safety and technical specifications.
ALL COMPETING MOTORCYCLES MUST BE PROFESSIONALLY PRESENTED
Art.25 - GENERAL SAFETY - RIDER APPAREL
25.1 It is the responsibility of the rider to select a helmet or apparel which will provide appropriate protection.
25.2 The following apparel must be worn by riders:
HELMETS - Helmets must conform to one of the recognized international standards:
- Europe ECE 22-05 or ECE 22-06 (only “P” type)
- Japan JIS T 8133:2015 (only “Type 2 full face”)
- USA SNELL M 2015 or SNELL M 2020D or SNELL M 2020R
EYE PROTECTION - Eye protection must be worn at the start of practice and race.
EQUIPMENT AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHES
- This equipment includes, but is not limited to boots, gloves, jersey, pants, and a stone protector. Gloves must be worn at the start of practice and race.
