Red Bull DIY

Red Bull DIY is back for another edition of competitive competitions for passionate Filipino skateboarders to showcase their creativity, skill, and passion for the sport.

Philippines

I. General Guidelines

Introducing the 2nd edition of Red Bull DIY with a modified concept, positioning the project as a community-based DIY online video competition for both the local skate/crew communities as well as an individual competition.

II. Administration and Announcements

  1. Individuals who are authorized by Red Bull to administrate the competition based on its rules and regulations will be called “administrators” (admin for abbreviation purposes). Collectively the group of admins will be referred to as the Administration.
  2. Official Announcements, as well as Declarations and Statements of the Administration during the competition, can ignore or overrule the following rules in order to make the competition as fair as possible. Should there be a contradicting declaration, a formal declaration will be announced once the members of the Administration have aligned.

III. Participant Requirements

  1. Participants must be of age 18 or older.
  2. Participants must be a resident of the country in which the competition is held (Philippines).
  3. Participants must have an Instagram, Facebook and/or TikTok account to be able to post their video entries. These entries must be set on “Public“.

IV. Registration Requirements

  1. Participants must register via the following link: https://www.redbull.com/redbulldiyph
  2. By registering at the registration website, participants automatically consent to the terms found below within this document and on the website.
  3. General required information for both competition divisions unless stated otherwise: First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Street Address, City, Zip code, Region, Country, Team Name, Representing City, Representing Skate Shop/Crew, Team Captain (Representing Member of the Team), Team Member Details (Name and Birthdate), Contact Number, Email Address , Social Media Handles (IG/FB/Tiktok account)
  4. Participants confirm that they are in an appropriate physical and mental condition and possess the required skills to participate in the event. They are nevertheless aware that their participation involves a certain degree of risk. Therefore, participants confirm that neither the organizer of the event nor Red Bull GmbH (“Red Bull”) nor any of its related companies are to blame in any way if they get injured. Participants are in possession of a valid personal liability insurance and personal accident insurance that cover their participation. If a participant causes damage to anyone else or their property, participants will accept the responsibility and will make sure that the organizer, Red Bull or any of its related companies will not incur any damage in this regard.
  5. Participants agree to comply with the organizer’s rules of competition and safety and follow any instructions for their own good and everybody else’s. Participants have checked their own equipment which is in good working order, properly maintained and suitable for the Event and Participants are aware that they will only be allowed to take part after a positive on-site/online inspection and/or safety check. Participation may, at any time, be refused by the organizer or Red Bull due to failure to meet these expectations.
  6. Red Bull or such third parties as it may authorize from time to time will be entitled to capture and use audio recordings, video recordings, and photographs (“Material”), from the Event and to use any participants name, image, voice, appearance, performance and biographical Material for any purpose (be it commercial, promotional or otherwise) in all media, forever.
  7. Red Bull will be enabled to use, broadcast, screen, display, reproduce and/or make available to the public the Material in any and all media, including but not limited to radio, television, cinemas, events, data carriers and the worldwide web. Red Bull will be entitled to make any alterations, intermissions, cuts, or other modifications in and to the Material and to use such altered Material without restrictions. Furthermore, Red Bull is allowed to transfer the granted rights to any third party. Participants know that they will not have the right to approve any of the Material. Participants understand that they might not be named as a participant in the Event and do not expect to gain financially from their appearance in any Event-related Material.
  8. If not stated otherwise, Red Bull allows participants to use their own camera at the event in order to record moving images and/or a series of still images/ shoot content (“Participant Content”). The use of such Participant Content is limited to private purposes meaning on participants’ own websites and my social media channels. Participants understand that Red Bull holds the intellectual property and media rights in the event, and, upon request, participants will provide Red Bull access to the Participant Content. Any commercial use either by said participants or third parties is subject to Red Bull´s prior consent.
  9. Red Bull or third parties, as it may authorize from time to time, will be entitled to collect technical performance data (e.g. speed, airtime, G-forces and positioning data) and to use such data as defined above, unless the collection of such technical performance data could affect the sporting result.

V. Competition Structure

Team Competition
  1. Open to Skate Shops/Communities (Team)
  2. Open registration by submitting DIY spot plans for approval
  3. 15 accepted proposals receive initial budget to develop
  4. Teams receive an initial DIY infusion budget to build up spots for a 60sec video entry submission
  5. Judging criteria through regional and international judges will determine the top 3 placements
Solo Competition
  1. Open registration - Post a 30sec video edit on your social channels and tag @redbullph & #RedBullDIY
  2. Register your video entry on https://www.redbull.com/redbulldiyph from April 27 – May 15, 2022.
  3. Top 10 videos selected via voting system of highest number of likes
  4. Initial DIY infusion for a Round 2 DIY Best Tricks 60sec video
  5. Judging criteria through regional judges will determine the top 3 placements

VI. Competition: Rules and Mechanics

Team Competition: Rules and Mechanics
A. General Overview:
  1. Only allowed for skate shops and skate crews
  2. Maximum limit of 10 team members
  3. Teams need to register and submit a proposed DIY obstacle design (sketched drawing/design, etc.) within the registration period (March 9, 2022 (12:00pm) – March 27, 2022 (11:59pm)
  4. 15 teams will be selected based on the creativity of their DIY obstacle design and will be given an initial budget to start the development of their DIY obstacle
  5. Selected groups will have 18 days to build up spots and post a 60 sec video entry submission
  6. Regional judges will judge the 15 teams and determine the Top 5 teams
  7. International judges will judge the Top 5 teams and determine the DIY Team Champion along with the other top placements
B. Competition Rules
  1. For those submitting the 60 sec entries, they can only use the DIY obstacle that they proposed and built with the initial budget given to them
  2. First 10 sec of the video must include a time-lapse or segment of them constructing their proposed DIY obstacle
  3. Video must include Red Bull DIY logo
  4. Video must include the integration of Red Bull Energy Drink product
  5. Teams must post only 1 video entry on their registered Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok account from (March 30, 2022 (12:00pm) – April 17, 2022 (11:59pm) with the following mention and hashtag (@redbullph #RedBullDIY)
  6. If participants are building permanent structures as their DIY skate obstacles, they must own and have the property title where they plan on building it. Otherwise, skate spots at public locations should only have mobile skate obstacles built.
C. Judging Criteria
  1. Obstacle Quality (setup quality, design) (40%)
  2. Creativity (DIY Creativity) (30%)
  3. Performance (Tricks performed on DIY obstacle) (30%)
Solo Competition: Rules and Mechanics
A. General Overview
  1. In Individual skaters can skate anywhere in the Philippines, they just have to skate a DIY (Do It Yourself) obstacle (does not have to be a Red Bull DIY spot or obstacle)
  2. Open registration for those 18yrs and above
  3. 1st Round: Individuals will have 19 days to come up with their 30sec video entry
  4. Online public voting system based on the highest number of likes on videos to determine the Top 10
  5. 2nd Round: Individuals will have 7 days to come up with their new video edit featuring their best tricks with the DIY infusion budget of the new obstacle they created
  6. Regional judges will judge the Top 10 participants and determine the Top 5
  7. Margielyn Didal will then judge the Top 5 and determine the DIY Solo Champion along with the other top placements
B. Competition Rules
1st Round:
  1. Participants can skate at any location in the Philippines (does not have to be a Red Bull DIY spot or obstacle) as long as they feature a DIY (Do It Yourself) obstacle showcasing their best tricks
  2. Video must include Red Bull DIY logo
  3. Participants must post only (1) 30 sec video entry on their personal Instagram/Tiktok channels from April 27, 2022 (12:00am) - May 15, 2022 (11:59pm) with the following mention and hashtag (@redbullph #RedBullDIY)
  4. Participants must keep their FB & IG account public from (April 27, 2022 (12:00am) – May 31, 2021 (11:59pm)
  5. Participants must register their video entry on https://www.redbull.com/redbulldiyph from April 27 – May 15, 2022.
  6. The Top 10 participants will be determined by the highest number of votes/likes on their video entries starting May 15, 2022 (11:59pm)
  7. If participants are building permanent structures as their DIY skate obstacles, they must own and have the property title where they plan on building it. Otherwise, skate spots at public locations, should only have mobile skate obstacles built.
2nd Round:
  1. The Top 10 participants must include at least a 10 sec time-lapse or segment of them constructing a new DIY obstacle (with the infusion budget given to them)
  2. Video edit must be 60sec max showcasing their best tricks
  3. Video must include the integration of Red Bull Energy Drink product
  4. Video must include the Red Bull DIY logo
  5. Top 10 must post their 2nd video entry on IG/FB from (May 15, 2022 (12:00pm) – May 24, 2022 (11:59pm) with the dedicated mention & hashtag (@redbullph #RedBullDIY)
  6. If participants are building permanent structures as their DIY skate obstacles, they must own and have the property title where they plan on building it. Otherwise, skate spots at public locations, should only have mobile skate obstacles built.
C. Judging Criteria
  1. Obstacle Quality (setup quality, design) (40%)

  3. Performance (Tricks performed on DIY obstacle) (30%)
Prizes
A. Team Competition
  1. 1ST Place: Winners get an opportunity to co-design and co-create their DIY spot with Red Bull amounting to Php 75,000.00
  2. 2ND Place: Winners get an opportunity to co-design and co-create their DIY spot with Red Bull amounting to Php 50,000.00
  3. 3RD Place: Winners get an opportunity to co-design and co-create their DIY spot with Red Bull amounting to Php 30,000.00
(Additional prizes from event partners will be given to top placing teams)
B. Solo Competition
  1. 1ST Place: Winner gets an opportunity to co-design and co-create their DIY spot with Red Bull amounting to Php 30,0000 and all expense paid VIP experience to join Margie Didal’s “Island Hopping Skate Tour” in Quarter 3, 2022.
  2. 2ND Place: Winners get an opportunity to co-design and co-create their DIY spot with Red Bull amounting to Php 20,000.00
  3. 3RD Place: Winners get an opportunity to co-design and co-create their DIY spot with Red Bull amounting to Php 10,000.00
(Additional prizes from event partners will be given to top placers)

VII. Disqualifications

  1. The competitions only allows participants of the ages 18 & above. In the case that the participant was not honest with their age whether they win or not, will be disqualified from the competition at the discretion of Administration.
  2. If a participant tries to register beyond the given/adjusted registration period.
  3. If videos are posted outside the time frame provided, this will result to an invalid entry and participants will be disqualified.
  4. If the participant’s video entry is more than 60 seconds.
  5. If the participant’s video does not include the social tags ‘@redbullph’ & ‘#RedBullDIY’.
  6. If the participant does not include the Red Bull DIY logo in their video entry
  7. If the participant is found to have used more funds than the initial DIY infusion budget that was given to him to build his DIY obstacle
  8. If a participant is found to have built a permanent structure on public or un-owned property.
  9. If a National Finalist is found disqualified, his/her spot will be moved on to the next contender after him/her in terms of competition placement.
  10. Exceptions may be made in the event of force majeure, so long as it can be proven and at the administrators’ discretion. In this event, administrators may choose to postpone the regional online qualifier which could interfere with the flow and schedule of the National Finals.
  11. Force Majeure is an unforeseeable natural phenomenon and listed below are qualifications to be considered. A) Involves no human agency. B) Not realistically possible to guard against. C) Due directly and exclusively to natural causes.
  12. Any issues that arise which are not covered within the current rules will be settled at the discretion of the competition admins, organizers and regional judges on a case-bycase basis, and when applicable, penalties set when deemed appropriate. Rules may be added or modified if deemed necessary.

VIII. Additional Media Guidelines

  1. Subject of these Term and Conditions is your content which Red Bull [Premier Wine & Spirits Inc. N. Romualdez Street Gate 1, Tabacalera Compound Paco, Manila PH](„RED BULL“) and its affiliates and subsidiaries may use (“User Content”). By either posting the content on your respective social media account tagged with the brand hashtag as provided in our announcement, uploading the content on one of our social media pages, and/or by replying to our direct message asking if we may use your content with yes, you agree to be bound by these Terms and conditions, without limitation or qualification.
  2. You must be at least 16 years old and have the consent of your legal representatives or at least 18 years old to submit your User Content to RED BULL. RED BULL reserves the right to require you to prove that you are eligible. RED BULL is entitled to require proof of identity from you at any time.
  3. a) You confirm that any copyright and other intellectual property rights vesting in your User Content is owned by you and you agree to hereby assign and grant to RED BULL including its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates and partners any and all rights, title and interest in and to all User Content submitted to RED BULL, including your voice, image, photograph, statements, biographical information, performances, name and likeness under current and future law to the broadest extent possible according to applicable law. To the extent that rights are not assignable, you hereby grant to RED BULL the irrevocable, worldwide, perpetual, exclusive, transferable and unlimited rights (unlimited in terms of territory, time or purpose) to copy, distribute, transmit, publish, perform, display, make derivative works from, exploit, and otherwise use the User Content in any known or yet unknown kind of use. If a court or any other authority finds that the exclusive grant above is not fully effective for any reason, you hereby grant to RED BULL the irrevocable, worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive, transferable and unlimited rights (unlimited in terms of territory, time or purpose) to copy, distribute, transmit, publish, perform, display, make derivative works from, exploit, and otherwise use the User Content in any known or yet unknown kind of use without any payment or notice to you. You waive any and all moral rights (sometimes referred to as “droit moral” or similar terms) in the User Content in favor of RED BULL. The conveyances and licenses in this section include in particular but are not limited to the following rights: the broadcasting right, the right of making available to the public (download/on-demand-rights), the film theatre right (cinematic/exhibition right), the video rights, the right of distribution and copying, the right of alteration and dubbing, the right of promotion, the merchandising right, the publishing right and the stage drama, radio drama and audio/talking book rights. Furthermore, RED BULL acquires the right to make any alterations, intermissions, deletions, cuts or other modifications in and to the User Content and the exclusive right to exploit such altered version in any matter. RED BULL and its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates and partners shall be enabled to exploit the User Content without any limitations and regardless of the medium via which the exploitation takes place. RED BULL is however not obliged to make use of these rights. b) RED BULL is further irrevocably entitled to assign the rights entirely or in part to any third parties and to grant any sublicenses respectively rights of exploitation and/or exploitation permissions or to exercise the rights in its own name or through third parties. c) RED BULL including its affiliated companies and partners may be required to request you to enter into a separate license agreement permitting RED BULL to use the User Content for reasonable promotional, administrative or other purposes beyond the reasonable expectation of you.
  4. You hereby represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to grant the rights provided for in this paragraph 4, and that all materials forming part of your User Content, and any use of such materials by or on behalf of RED BULL under the license granted hereby, comply with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations and do not infringe or otherwise violate the intellectual property or other rights of any third party, including, but not limited to, any persons who appear in the User Content; the owners of any pre-existing works included in the User Content, including, but not limited to, owners of intellectual property or other proprietary rights in any artwork, photographs, sculptures, trademarks, monuments.
  5. You represent, warrant, and covenant that you will not submit any User Content that: a. casts a negative light on RED BULL, RED BULL affiliates or on RED BULL or their activities, business or brands. You shall in particular refrain from using or submitting any User Content in connection with: (a) illegal products, content, services or materials; (b) coverage of accidents, assaults, catastrophes or riots; and/or (c) competing products (in particular beverages containing caffeine, taurine or guarana); b. impersonates another or is unlawful, threatening, abusive, libellous, defamatory, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, vulgar, obscene, profane, pornographic, or otherwise objectionable, or otherwise violates any applicable law; c. encourages conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability or otherwise violate any law; d. is an advertisement for goods or services or a solicitation of funds; e. includes personal information such as messages which identify phone numbers, social security numbers, account numbers, addresses, or employer references; f. contains a formula, instruction, or advice that could cause harm or injury; or g. contains any virus, trojan horses or other harmful code or script.
  6. In the event that User Content includes any material of a location, building or government which cannot be shown or pictured without having a prior approval of the respective rights user is required to obtain signed releases as may be required by a particular location, building or government, from all owners of any proprietary right in the location depicted in the User Content before submitting User Content.
  7. It forms part of the submission of User Content that you agree to have your User name, photograph and any information contained in your social media or platform profile featured in publicity materials published by RED BULL.
  8. Your name and other personal details from your User Content to the Account will be collected and stored in accordance with the applicable privacy policy in place (see https://policies.redbull.com/policies/Participant_Events/202008040308/en/privacy.html).
  9. Save where it has been negligent, RED BULL will not be responsible for any damage, loss or injury resulting from your submission of User Content or for technical, hardware or software failures, lost, faulty or unavailable network connections. RED BULL will not be responsible for any lost, damaged, defaced, incomplete, illegible or otherwise unreadable User Content. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall in any way limit RED BULL's liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence or for any other matter where liability may not as a matter of law be limited.
  10. These Terms and Conditions are governed by Austrian law. If you submit User Content and have your habitual residence in another country than Austria at the time of accepting this Terms and Conditions mandatory laws of such country will be unaffected by the choice of law clause in sentence 1
