Red Bull Hardline British Columbia 2026 livestream
Red Bull Hardline is an invitational MTB downhill competition that has been held annually in the UK since 2014. It has since grown to include an event in Tasmania and now, in 2026, British Columbia, with each new location chosen for terrain that tests the absolute limits of the best riders in the world. Fans all over the world can catch all the action, streamed live on Red Bull TV.
Each year riders from across the world are invited to tackle the Red Bull Hardline tracks. The OG course in the Dyfi Valley, North Wales, is largely considered the toughest downhill MTB course ever conceived. While the UK event has taken place in annually since 2014, 2024 heradled a new chapter with the addition of Red Bull Hardline Tasmania, which returned in 2025 and 2026. The Australian races were held at the Maydena Bike Park in Tasmania.
In 2026, a new challenge has been added into the mix, with the debut of Red Bull Hardline British Columbia, in Canada's westernmost province. The world's bravest and best riders will take on the terrain of Cypress Mountain in the southern section of Cypress Provincial Park.

All Red Bull Hardline courses have coupled danger and intensity while requiring extreme focus and skill to tackle some parts, let alone the entire thing.
Why is it invite only?
The courses are deemed too dangerous for amateur riders. Even then, there is a testing week ahead of the official race that allows riders to familiarise themselves, and even decide if they will compete.
The courses are designed by rider Dan Atherton, who is renowned as one of the best trail builders in the world. His vision often finds picturesque locations entwined with challenging aspects. In more recent years he's teamed up with his brother Gee Atherton, also a rider, to build a more intense course!
He recounts the first time he saw the Wales location:
We were scouring around and saw this mountain with the huge waterfall next to it. It had huge elevation, incredible terrain – everything you could possibly want on a mountain for a downhill track. As soon as I saw it, I knew we had to conquer it.
As the years go on, jumps, gaps and sections get harder and harder, requiring riders to level up their skillset. More broadly, Red Bull Hardline pushes the progression of the sport.
This isn't your typical course either, with elements borrowed from dirt jumping, BMX and motocross that are not allowed in the World Cup and other UCI races. These include massive jumps and gaps, monster drops of 10m plus, 'rock gardens', and steep descents.

Another element each year is the unpredictable weather that each Red Bull Hardline location has come to love. What may start out as a beautiful sunny day can quickly turn into torrential rain and in some instances cancellation of the event, which happened for the 2023 edition.
