The world may have bid the legendary Evel Knievel adieu, but his spirit lives on in the likes of Robbie Maddison, freestyle motocross champ and daredevil extraordinaire. With Maddo, there’s no telling what’s next, something the Aussie has proved to us time and again with his incredible feats of moto gallantry.
Now that he's taken a bike up, down, and all over Utah's Olympic Park, let’s take a look back at some of Maddo’s other most amazing stunts over the years.
1. The 322-ft. Red Bull Experiment (2007)
In 2007, Robbie was well-known in the world of freestyle motocross, but his name did not hold much weight outside that tight-knit circle. That all changed on New Year’s Eve in 2007, when Maddo launched a football field-sized jump in Las Vegas, becoming the first rider to ever break the 300-foot barrier (one that Evel Knievel himself said to be impossible). And to make things a little bit more interesting for the elated onlookers, Robbie went back around and hit it again, just because he felt like it.
2. Jumping the Arc de Triomphe (2008)
The Red Bull: New Year. No Limits. Arc de Triomphe jump at the Paris casino in Las Vegas was a unique stunt. Almost all motorcycle-based stunts are distance jumps, usually jumping over something or a variety of things (oftentimes cars, in the Knievel days). But rarely is it jumping off of something. Robbie launched a huge jump on to the top of the Arc (modeled after the real one in France) at the Paris Casino in Sin City, but that was the easy part. He then turned around and jumped off, dropping about 10 stories and almost overshooting the landing completely. Luckily, he saved it, because that one would not have felt too good. He later said, "I don't care if you offered me $10 million, I wouldn't do it again."

New Year No Limits Record Breaking Jump

Levi LaVallee and Robbie Maddison soared over 300 feet of water both establishing new world records.

3. 378-ft. leap over the San Diego Harbor with Levi LaVallee (2011)
Red Bull: New Year. No Limits. in 2011 was the only time distance records have been broken in tandem. Both Robbie and Levi hit the massive jump over the San Diego harbor and crushed the motorcycle and snowmobile ramp-to-ramp distance records, much to the delight of the massive crowd in attendance.

4. The Tower Bridge of London backflip (2009)
What does Robbie do with jumps that are less than 200 feet? He backflips them, of course. In 2009, Robbie traveled to merry old England to backflip the famous drawbridge perched over the River Thames. With the potential fall in the neighborhood of 200 feet, it was not a jump to scoff at.
5. The Corinth Canal Jump (2010)
The Corinth Canal in Greece played host to yet another incredible Maddo stunt. He only jumped 278 feet (for Maddo, that’s an “only”), but considering the fact that he was 100-plus feet in the air across a chasm, it rates pretty high on the badass meter.
