Xbox One X is the new name for Xbox Scorpio. Billed as the world's most powerful console ever, it will be released worldwide on November 7. It will cost $499 in the US.
We knew that Microsoft were launching a new, more powerful Xbox One boasting 6 teraflops, but this is the first time we've actually seen the machine itself, and you know what? Despite being the most powerful console, it's also Microsoft's smallest.
So, the specs. You already know about the 6 teraflop GPU, which, incidentally, is clocked at 1.17GHz. It also features 12GB of GDDR5 RAM, but Kareem Choudhry, head of Xbox Software Engineering, seemed particularly proud of the liquid-cool vapour chamber, something that he said was usually reserved for servers and high-end PC cards.
You also can expect true 4K/HDR with 8 million pixels and Dolby Atmos support, plus a 4K Blu-ray drive, Basically, games like Forza 7,which will launch on October 3, will look bloody great on it.
Your old games will look great, too. For Xbox One X is compatible with all Xbox One games and they'll benefit from improved visuals and faster loading times. Even if you don't own a 4K TV, thanks to supersampling, games will look better on your 1080p TV.
