Mattia Colnaghi Secures Eurocup-3 Title at Jerez
A Consistent Performance Sees Red Bull Junior Clinch Championship with a Race to Spare.
The Eurocup-3 season concluded its penultimate round at the Circuito de Jerez-Ángel Nieto, where Red Bull Junior Team driver Mattia Colnaghi sealed a commanding championship victory. Just months after joining the Red Bull Junior Team, the Italian driver's composed performance in a highly competitive field saw him clinch the drivers’ title with one race left on the calendar.
The Path to the Title
Colnaghi’s championship campaign was built on a foundation of consistent results and a series of key victories in a fiercely contested season. He began with a strong statement, taking a victory in the very first race at the Red Bull Ring.
His pace continued to deliver, with dominant wins at Paul Ricard and Assen which helped him to solidify his championship lead against rivals such as his teammate Valerio Rinicella and Campos Racing's Ernesto Rivera.
Jerez: The Decisive Round
The weekend at Jerez was all about managing the championship margin. In Race 1, Colnaghi started fourth on the grid. He executed a clean getaway, navigating a multi-car battle on the opening lap. While his Red Bull Junior teammate Enzo Tarnvanichkul secured the win, Colnaghi’s drive was a strategic effort. He maintained a strong pace to finish third, gaining crucial points on his main championship rivals and putting him in a commanding position to clinch the title on Sunday.

The stage for Race 2 was set when Colnaghi earned pole position, the two bonus points for which officially sealed the championship before the lights went out. From there, he executed a flawless race. He led into Turn 1 and, over the course of the race, built a comfortable gap over the field. He took the win with a margin of 4.6 seconds over Kacper Sztuka, with Ernesto Rivera completing the podium. The victory was a fitting culmination of a successful season, which also secured him the Rookie title and helped his MP Motorsport team to clinch the Teams’ Championship.
Now a confirmed champion, Colnaghi will use the final round of the season at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on November 14-16 as an opportunity to continue his development with the Red Bull Junior Team.
